Abstract

1.To maintain surveillance of HIV infection and behaviour in South Africa, and to obtain a better understanding of factors driving the HIV epidemic; 2. To collect data to evaluate the South African National HIV and AIDS and STI Strategic Plan for 2012-2016; 3. To collect data for monitoring the HIV indicators required for the preparation of the country reports to various international bodies; 4. To build capacity in ongoing HIV surveillance, monitoring, and evaluation in South Africa.
