Abstract
The HSRC 2012 population-based survey of national HIV prevalence, incidence and behaviour reported that there were approximately 469 000 new HIV infections in 2012 (Shisana et al. 2014).The Higher Education and Training HIV/AIDS Programme (HEAIDS) is an initiative of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) that is implemented through Universities South Africa in partnership with the South African College Principals Organisation (SACPO). HEAIDS is therefore a relevant platform from which to provide interventions to prevent new HIV infection, as well as care and support for infected or affected employees and students.-
