Dr Thobeka Thobeka Zondi
Thobeka Radebe is currently a PhD Candidate and Researcher working at the Human Science Research Council. She has a Bachelor of Social Science in Geography and Environmental Management (University of KwaZulu-Natal, 2013) and a Bachelor of social Science honours in Sociology (University of KwaZulu-Natal, 2014 and a Master's Degree in Local Economic Development (University of KwaZulu-Natal, 2016).
Before joining the HSRC, she interned at the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs. Before joining the HSRC, Thobeka has previously worked at the South African Local Government Association?s Economic Development and Planning Unit and UKZN as a Researcher. She was also an environmental management intern at the Department Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs.
Her areas of research interest include environmental management, governance and state institutions, political economy, service delivery and the analysis of renewable energy technologies as means for local economic development which supports local economies, the creation of green sustainable jobs and more reliable energy for the future.
