HSRC Annual Report 2016/17
This year we launched the HSRC Medal for Social Sciences and Humanities, celebrating outstanding contributions in
the field. We received a strong pool of nominations and were pleased to present the inaugural award to an outstanding
scholar, Prof. Njabulo Ndebele.
I take this opportunity to thank the Minister and the Department of Science and Technology, my fellow Board members,
the Chief Executive Officer, the Board Secretariat and the leadership team of the HSRC for their collegiality and support,
which has allowed the Board to fulfil its oversight responsibilities.
I wish the new Board every success in ensuring that the work of the HSRC continues to impact positively on policies
and programmes that contribute to building a more equitable future.
