The Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) is mandated to undertake, promote and co-ordinate policy-relevant, problemoriented research in the social sciences. Our aim is to explore areas of the social and human sciences that would enrich and improve the quality of life of all South Africans and across the continent. These areas of scientific research are our strength and our competitive advantage. They fuel the growth of our country and of our people.
