In July, South Africa celebrates former President Nelson Mandela's birthday. 18 July has been declared Nelson Mandela International Day.  With this in mind, the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) is embarking on a series of activities to celebrate the life of our national icon. One of the events the HSRC is arranging is a public seminar on Nelson Mandela’s role in the struggle for social justice and in promoting reconciliation. Above all else, Nelson Mandela is known for the significant contribution he has made to the liberation struggle, dedicating virtually his entire life to achieving the goal of social justice for all South Africans.   In addition to the sacrifices he made, he is also globally recognised for the spirit of reconciliation he fostered and nurtured during his period of presidency. Please join us at the seminar to discuss these two key contributions Nelson Mandela has made to our country.
