HSRC leads the IORA Academic Group

Human Sciences Research Council
Pretoria, Thursday 12 October 2017 – The Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) will, on the margins of the 17th Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Council of Ministers’ meeting being hosted by South Africa, lead the Academic, Science & Technology Cooperation forum.
South Africa will host the IORA Council of Ministers’ Meeting from 14 to 17 October 2017 in Durban during which the country will also assume the chairpersonship of IORA.
The Council of Ministers’ Meeting will be convened under the theme “IORA – uniting the peoples of Africa, Asia, Australasia, and the Middle East through enhanced co-operation for peace, stability and sustainable development”.
The HSRC, and other academic and research partners, will meet to discuss the contribution of the research community to the common challenges being faced by the Association in particular, and the developing world in general.
