MEDIA INVITE:

Members of the Media are invited to attend a symposium where the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) will partner with the Embassy of Switzerland in South Africa in its support to the Swiss commitment to social science and humanities.

In line with this, the HSRC recently signed a MOU with the University of Basel based in Switzerland and has always enjoyed a very vibrant relationship with the Swiss.  Within this context the Swiss Embassy partnered with the HSRC to host an event where the state of Social Sciences will be presented to colleagues from all the embassies based in South Africa. HSRC CEO, Prof Olive Shisana, will deliver the keynote address.

This event will be held tomorrow, Wednesday October 8, 2014 from 10:00 to 14:00 at the Museum Africa, Old Market Building, Newtown, and Johannesburg.

Guests will also enjoy a tour of the museum and view the Rise and Fall of Apartheid exhibition.
