Previewing President Ramaphosa's nation address: Prof Narnia Bohler Muller

CATEGORY: Media and COVID-19
DATE: 14 July 2020

This address by the President is the first since June 17 when he announced the move to Level 3 - and follows a meeting of the National Coronavirus Command Council (NCCC) and the Cabinet, and lengthy consultations with the government's scientific advisers. It comes at the time when the country has seen a surge in a number of confirmed COVID-19 cases and deaths.

Some analysts believe that the President may announce the reintroduction of tighter regulations on the sale of alcohol, limiting interprovincial movement, and more.

To take the discussion further now, we are joined via SKYPE by Professor Narnia Bohler Muller. She is Divisional Executive of the Developmental, Capable and Ethical State research program at the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC). She joins now live via SKYPE.
