Abstract

The project purpose is to conduct the first phase of a survey of knowledge intensive tradeable services in the Gauteng province; The scope of the project entails, in particular research and evidence gathering to understanding of the spatial economy of Gauteng. The first of this work programme will focus on a survey of firms in a group of industries known as tradeable services, a priority duster for analysis because of its strategic importance to Gauteng: The Project seeks to improve the understanding of the situation facing the cluster in order to provide insights into the opportu nities and challenges that are relevant for decision makers in the Gauteng Province and other parts of government.
