Abstract

The objectives of this current evaluation are to: 1. Establish the extent to which the national housing programmes and policies have facilitated womens access to the city. 2. To explore what constitutes access to the city for women 3. To explore the meanings that women attach to accessing the city 4. To understand how the meanings that women make of accessing the city help them to negotiate access to the city 5. Make recommendations that contribute to improving human settlements policies and programmes and how these can improve womens access to the city
