Abstract

The purpose of the project is twofold: To investigate emotional, social and political attachments to particular genre???s and forms of music and music practices that promote social identities and social values that are transformative and which confront social discriminatory practices of race, class, gender and sexuality. To investigate established youth, community networks of practice that facilitate skills learning and development, and promotes participation in the production of music.
