Hilton Foundation Monitoring, Evaluation and Learing Project for Children Affected by HIV/AIDS

Abstract

The Conrad N Hilton Foundation is providing multi-year support to 11 organizations to implement projects in Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania and Zambia. The projects, managed by a range of local, national, and international organizations aim to support the early development of children in areas severely affected by HIV and AIDS. Early childhood is a critical period in human development. Interventions to assist young children are now known to render the greatest value for money invested as compared to any later life stage. The Foundation sees an opportunity to contribute to programs with immediate benefit to young children that can be reached through this financial support, and is committed to a learning and advocacy plan that will generate benefits for many other children, now and well into the future. The HSRC team will work with the implementing partners, over the next three years, to pool their combined expertise and experience and develop and implement an evaluation and learning platform with the aim of breaking new ground in this important area.
