Improving Electricity and Water Service Delivery in Gugulethuby strengthening Citizen Engagement (Cape Town) using the Community Scorecard approach

Abstract

The overall objective is to use the Community Scorecard methodology to improve electricity and water service delivery in Cape Town municipality through municipal and citizen engagement specifically in 3 under-resourced areas in Gugulethu as identified by the City of Cape Town (Nyanga Old Location, Mau Mau, and Zwelitsha). Specific objectives include: i) Improved service delivery through fruitful and sustained citizen engagement, ii) Community partnering to improve service provision and maintenance, iii) Increased City staff participation in citizen/community engagement and to improve the reliability and continuity of these services.
