UJ-HSRC Covid-19 Democracy Survey

Abstract

The main aim of this UJ-HSRC COVID-19 Democracy Survey was to provide critical social data with which to understand public perceptions of the economic, social and political impact of COVID-19 on life across the country, and examine how these inform behaviour, future outlook and policy preferences. A particular emphasis of the survey-based research was to monitor changes in knowledge, attitudes, beliefs and behaviour as the country's pandemic response progressed from a 'hard' level 5 phase of the national lockdown to less restrictive phases.
