Abstract

We propose that HSRC develops and administers a survey of South African social scientists to study views of the importance of a set of democratic principles and of South Africa???s performance on said principles. The surveys will be sent in the fall 2020 to members of several academic and research associations. HSRC and CCD will model the survey structure on the design on surveys that BLW has regularly administered since 2017 in the United States (and which has already been adapted for use in Brazil, Canada, and Turkey).
