Abstract

he 2024 International Social Surveys Programme module is on work orientation and is currently being developed. South Africa, through the HSRC SASAS team, is a member of the drafting group and has committed to doing some cognitive testing on certain items through the administration of a set of focus groups. A small grant to assist with this would ensure that the testing can be done efficiently. This needs to be undertaken before the end of January 2024, and the material would subsequently be used for a journal publication. (b) The increasing level of externally commissioned content in SASAS has meant that we have to prepare a growing number of analytical research reports each financial year. The current SASAS budget does not stretch far enough to cover the costs of the final report editing, layout and proofing. A modest allocation can assist in meeting the significant need in this regard for this financial year
