Abstract

The objectives of the research paper as outlined in the QDPE TOR are: ??? To empirically determine whether the country has a skills or a jobs problem in the context of the 30 000 per annum demand proposed by the NDP; ??? To estimate the extent of skills mismatches if any; ??? To analyse available data to determine trends in completion and absorption rates of artisan skills into the labour market, clearly delineating trades that are mostly needed by the economy; ??? To explore best practice exit opportunities and recommend alternative and pathways that can be leveraged to mitigate on the scourge of youth unemployment, especially among artisan graduates.
