Unrest related research in four wards in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
Abstract
Over the past seven months, the VaxScenes Research Programme has implemented a mixed-methods, multiple case study project to explore South African???s perspectives (including acceptability and hesitancy) of COVID-19 vaccines (Protocol Number H21/02/05). The study was situated within four communities in Gauteng (Alexandra Ward 75), KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) (Wentworth Ward 68 and Sweetwaters Ward 1) and Western Cape (Rylands). We intend to expand the VaxScenes study, by including a third phase of research in the Gauteng and KZN sites to document and unpack adults??? perspectives and experiences during the unrest period. This new round of data collection and analysis will be funded by the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) and will be complete by the end of December 2021
