Abstract
This study provides a gender sensitive impact assessment of Lesotho Highlands Water Project. It takes place at a time when water is increasingly becoming regarded as an economic good both as an input to agri-business and industry and to be priced for human consumption at its full cost. Displacement by dams involves a loss or resources, new settlements, and very substantial issues of social justice and equity. This study provides a description of the effects of displacement, the conditions of resettlement, policies, and perspectives from the women themselves.-
