Abstract
Since 2001, the International Labour Organization (ILO) Programme on HIV & AIDS and the World of Work (ILO/AIDS) and its partners have supported Ministries of Labour, employers' organizations and workers' organizations in more than 60 countries across the world to develop, implement and monitor HIV workplace programmes (WPP), and to implement enterprise level HIV and AIDS workplace initiatives. In Cote d'Ivoire, these initiatives have facilitated access to HIV services for women and men workers in the public and private sectors as well as the formal and informal economies. Workplace HIV and AIDS programmes and policies are rarely evaluated to determine what works in terms of prevention, treatment, care or support for employees. This report brings together practical examples of workplaces that have made a difference in achieving good outcomes through their HIV and AIDS workplace programmes in Cote d'Ivoire. The study assessed what works in achieving good outcomes in HIV and AIDS and the world of work, i.e. how and why, good outcomes were achieved, as well as found out which conducive environmental factors contributed to achievement of good outcomes-
