Abstract
This report presents the key elements of the completed fieldwork of the baseline study on informal settlements targeted for upgrading throughout the nine provinces in South Africa. Before proceeding to the content of the fieldwork, the report presents a brief overview of the background of the study, the purpose and objectives as well as the key questions that the study sought to address.-
