Abstract
The report commences with a concise policy review followed by a review of literature pertinent to the development of early childhood development indicators. The research method is presented next, followed by the findings. The final section of the report presents recommendations for data collection and improvement of information systems within the Department of Social Services and Poverty Alleviation in particular. The inter-sectoral nature of ECD is also taken into account.-
