Mr Siphephelo Mabuyakhulu is a Masters Research Trainee in the Education and Skills Development research programme at the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC). Mr Mabuyakhulu is interested in Macroeconomic studies, with an application of Econometric Models. He has a working knowledge of Econometrics and is looking to further hone his skills in this regard. As a trainee at the HSRC, he is hoping to learn and explore Education through the lenses of Economics.

Mr Mabuyakhulu holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) and a BCom Honours in Economics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He is currently pursuing a Master of Commerce in Economics. His Masters dissertation is titled The Effect of Firm Size on Profitability. The study investigates the effect the size of the firm has on their profits, using the Return on Assets (ROA) as the dependent variable, with firm size as the main independent variable.

Prior to joining the HSRC, Mr Mabuyakhulu worked as an Economics Tutor at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and tutored Mathematics, Accounting, Economics and business Studies for TeachMe2. Siphephelo is involved in the Imprint of Education (TIE) project, which is a longitudinal cohort study exploring transformative leadership among young Africans, funded by the MasterCard Foundation.
