Dr Memory Zodwa Radasi is a Research Specialist (Post-Doctoral Fellow), for education and livelihoods in the division of Inclusive Economic Development (IED), Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC). Radasi holds undergraduate degrees and MA from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa, as well as a PhD in Sociology from the University of Porto, Portugal. Her PhD dissertation - Exploring policies made by the democratic new South African government regarding gender and race in the context of inequality in the workplace.

She is currently working on the following projects:  National Covid-19 Antibody Survey (NCAS); Public School Partnerships project ; The new South African student movement - From #RhodesMustFall to #FeesMustFall

Her research aimed at transforming inequalities that violate personhood, including gender, racism, class, xenophobia and poverty. In addition to her research in the workplace, she is interested in policies, particularly in the education sector and human rights. She is currently examining personhood in the revaluation of children in African societies. Before joining the HSRC, Radasi worked at the University of the Western Cape and Engen Petroleum
