PE office enters #WRADChallenge2019

HSRC staff members in Port Elizabeth took time to participate in the NGO Nal’ibali’s #WRADChallenge2019 by reading aloud the set story “Where are you?” to children in three official languages on World Read Aloud Day (WRAD), 1 February 2019. Nal’ibali aimed at reaching 1.5 million children on the day given that reading aloud builds a strong language foundation, introduces vocabulary and can develop empathy, curiosity and critical thinking. The ultimate aim of Nal’ibali is to contribute to a South Africa where children read for enjoyment, meaning and understanding.
