Abstract

The purpose of the concept paper is to present to the DG: DBE, the preliminary thinking of the NECT with regard to the urgent assessment of the readiness of schools for reopening. Specific Objectives of the Paper The document thus presents the following - 1. A set of critical considerations which should inform the exercise of readiness assessment. 2. To outline a sketch of the methodology and approach and to describe its components. 3. To outline the capacity and resource requirements for urgently conducting the assessment of school readiness for reopening. 4. To present a process outline of the critical activities to be undertaken over the next 3 weeks in order to incrementally produce a report on the state of readiness before 25th May 2020. 5. To present a preliminary outline of the type of readiness data to be collected through the survey instrument distributed to schools.
