Abstract

The first component is a brief review of the growth of tradable services sectors in South Africa. The second will be a preliminary review of firm-level data from the World Bank Enterprise Survey 2020. The analysis will focus on identifying the key characteristics of service exporters and non-exporters as well as directly modelling which factors are significant determinants of export growth. The final component of the study will be to provide a brief qualitative review of the opportunities and constraints to doing business for two service sub-sectors.
