Abstract

This research serves as an initial process of developing harmonised collaborative doctoral programs among ARUA member universities and with universities in the global North,with a initial focus on natural sciences and humanities doctoral programs. The achievement of this purpose will occur in phases or stages. This first stage sets out to provide an overview of the current doctoral programs across the member universities while providing recommendations on which harmonisation approach will best serve this purpose. The harmonisation of collaborative PhD programs in ARUA member universities is also expected to enhance collaboration with universities in the global North. Hence, the research findings from this consultancy are critical in creating globally competitive collaborative PhD programs within ARUA member universities.
