Abstract

The study is aimed at generating information on the outcomes of those learners post completion of their qualification with respect to their career progression in general and more particularly within the Waste Sector, their current livelihood and employment status, and relevance of having a skilled workforce for employers in the Waste Sector in terms of their contribution to growth and productivity of the Waste Sector. It will seek to ascertain the extent to which the HCD Programme of the Waste RDI Road Map programme has realised its objectives and if it has done so effectively, efficiently and in a sustainable manner. The findings generated are expected to assist the CSIR RDI Waste Sector Roadmap Implementation Unit in understanding: a) the value of their investment in respect of its HCD programme as it has been implemented since inception, b) the relevance of the interventions, identify the areas requiring improvement, and c) support evidence informed planning and decision making.
