Abstract

This article is about a week's testing of grade 3 pupils at 17 schools in Kwa-Zulu Natal's Nkandla district. This formed part of the Assessment Modelling Initiative project, funded by the Research Triangle Institute in the United States. The tests aimed to evaluate pupil's performances at the end of the foundation phase (grade 3) and to provide support to teachers and educators.
