Abstract
The Consolidated Strategy and Guidelines stipulate a vision as well as objectives to be achieved in making sure that the rights of child-headed households are protected. To create awareness of the extent of the problems that children in child-headed households have to contend with, a situational analysis and a discussion of the major challenges facing child-headed households are presented. This is followed by a brief overview of the legal and policy framework that mandates the protection of children living in childheaded households; a discussion of the rights of the children; and an outline of the steps to be followed in rendering services to child-headed households.-
