Impact of Employment Policies to enhance Labour Market Outcomes of Youth

Abstract

The overarching objective is to support the active dissemination and research uptake of the findings and recommendations of the DoEL Study. This is informed by the imperative of recognising that addressing the challenges of youth unemployment and wellbeing requires societal wide engagement. The rationale for this is that the Department of Employment and Labour (DoEL) has recently assumed responsibility (since 2020) for the management and coordination function of youth labour market programmes. The direct responsibility for the design and implementation many of these policies is not with DoEL but with a diverse set of stakeholders, both state and non-state.
