Abstract
This study operates at the nexus of three important contemporary phenomena: the widespread HIV/AIDS pandemic in South Africa; the psychosocial needs of impoverished children made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS; and peer education, a technology that is increasingly being used to deliver HIV/AIDS prevention. The following review will explore each of these aspects in order to deepen understanding of the ways in which peer-led HIV intervention and support groups, such as the one being explored in this study, may be delivered as part of the solution to South Africa's challenge of HIV prevention.-
