Abstract

Food security and nutrition are an outcome of national incomes, as household food security requires goods and services to be produced by the national economy. AIDS affects agricultural production and subsequently household food security. HIV-infected persons are limited in generating an income or producing food for their households. Therefore a synergistic relationship exists between HIV infection and food insecurity.
