Abstract
A HealthRise Umgungundlovu District Technical Dialogue Meeting (TDM) was held at the Southern Sun Hotel, Pietermaritzburg on 14 September 2015. The goal was to gather information from key stakeholders from KwaZulu-Natal Province Department of Health, Umgungundlovu Health District and community levels both from the public and the private sector. The findings from this dialogue will be used to qualitatively augment and complement the findings of the National TDM and needs assessment to be conducted by IHMEs local partner, namely, Social Survey Africa. This data will inform the design of two to three demonstration projects which will be selected through a Request for Application (RFA) process and those organizations who bid successfully will implement the interventions at Umgungundlovu District. The HSRC will provide technical oversight for this process. When the demonstration projects are completed, an independent team, namely IHME and their local partner, will conduct the HealthRise Umgungundlovu District Technical Dialogue Meeting, evaluations using indicators for success as stipulated at the outset of the monitoring and evaluation process. Findings from the projects will be shared with local and global stakeholders in order to elicit their responses and ultimately this engagement hopes to influence the detection, treatment and management care national and provincial plans for diabetes and CVD.-
