Abstract
the need for primary prevention programmes to reduce the risk of adolescent girls becoming victims of rape is highlighted. The authors report on a study, which used qualitative focus groups and individual interviews with a volunteer sample of adolescents in a semi-rural area of KwaZulu-Natal to understand the dynamics underpinning rape of adolescents and by adolescents, with a view to developing such a primary prevention programme.-
