Abstract

In response to the social unrest and following a presentation by the HSRC to the National Intelligence Co-ordinating Committee (NICOC) the Department of Science and Technology requested the HSRC to construct possible futures scenarios to identify major drivers of social unrest in South Africa, and to do so in a participatory manner, including other science councils and key stakeholders.
