Abstract
The purpose of the CBP is to build the capacity of legislature members to execute their parliamentary mandates more effectively. Central to these mandates is the challenge of vigorously defending democratic practices, while at the same time ensuring that citizens' developmental needs are met through public policy decision making and effective scrutiny and oversight of government. In order to prepare the necessary inputs for the development of appropriate curricula for this training programme, it was decided to profile a sizeable sample of members of legislatures in terms of their previous employment and educational history and their current and future training needs and aspirations. A questionnaire was designed and distributed by the Speakers Forum in each of the legislatures across the country. This research report is the result of this training needs analysis.-
