Abstract
During the night of 6 April 2009 an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 struck the small town of L'quila in Italy, killing 309 people. The earthquake came after four months of continuous seismic activity. The discipline and practice of an area called science communication has become increasingly important for development.
