Abstract
The aim of the project is to design an appropriate methodology to implement the Grade 9 national assessment study for evaluating the functioning of the education systems and to develop a national framework of indicators for monitoring the performance of schools. In this sub-study items were developed and piloted so as to ensure comprehensive curriculum coverage for Grade 9 learners in English (2nd language), Mathematics and Natural Science for the main study in 2008.-
