Dr Musawenkosi Mabaso is a Chief Research Specialist in the in the HIV/AIDS, STIs and TB (HAST) programme. He holds in PHD in Epidemiology from the University of Basel, Switzerland. His scientific domain is infectious disease Epidemiology and Biostatistics and primary research field is Public Health. He also has skills in the application of Bayesian spatial and temporal models. His current Research focus is on the social epidemiology of HIV. Other research interest include HIV co-infections with other infectious diseases and non-communicable diseases, determinates of social and health inequalities as well as climate change and health. He has authored and co-authored more than 50 peer reviewed research articles, several conference papers and client reports.
